Art exhibition on former slaughterhouse in Malta

Art exhibition on former slaughterhouse in Malta

In the past, animals were slaughtered here, but now art can be seen. In Valletta, the capital of Malta, a former slaughterhouse has been transformed into an art centre.

Around an old slaughterhouse, the cultural agency of Valletta, the capital of Malta, opened the exhibition ´´fuse´´, dedicated to contemporary visual art.

Works by eight artists and collectives explored the stories of the people who once worked in the building, Valletta´s cultural agency said. According to the statement, the building has a history of over 400 years. However, for decades it was not used and fell into disrepair. With about €10.4 million, it has been rebuilt and is now open to designers, artists and citizens.
